In this workshop, she'll share her top ten tips for beginning homeschool teachers, pre-school through high school, and will provide answers to the most frequently asked questions she's fielded through the years. Her simple ideas, organizational strategies, decision-making suggestions and humorous style will encourage you and keep you from feeling overwhelmed as you consider all that it takes to begin homeschooling. Description: This workshop gives parents simple, inexpensive tips they can use to help their pre-schoolers and young elementary students race down the road of reading success. One take home project may be included upon request; ask for details.

Description: How do you get kids to write? Sherry shares her favorite tips to get kids of all ages to put pen to paper (or fingers to keypad) and produce great writing.
Suggested Time: 1 hour or 30 minute mini-session
Description: What’s the difference between motivation and bribery? How can you get your kids to finish their work independently? What do you do with a kid who doesn’t like school? These questions and more are addressed from a biblical perspective. You’ll leave with loads of practical ideas that you can implement the next day.

Blog On! Impact Your Culture through Writing
Description: Participants will learn the basics of blog development for the purpose of impacting the culture for Christ and His Kingdom. Internet safety is also a priority of this workshop.
Suggested Time: 1 hour introductory session, or 6 hours for the complete interactive workshop with assignments and on-line feedback to actually develop a blog during weekly courses over 4-6 weeks
Suggested Ages: High school through adult; middle school students if accompanied by a parent
Description: Teenagers often serve in the children’s departments of their churches. This workshop helps teens learn the basics of teaching and loving children so they can work safely and effectively. Sherry has taught this class in several churches where her husband served as a youth pastor or youth ministry consultant. Serving alongside her husband in youth and children's ministries, as well as her own experiences in summer missions and Christian school work, provide her with lots of practical ideas to share.
Suggested Time: 1 hour for basic session, or up to 4 hours, including interactive projects and activities if desired
Suggested Ages: Fifth grade through high school; adults who work with teenagers
Description: Students who have taken this course from Sherry have discovered a love for poetry they didn’t know they had. Boys included! Not only will students learn the elements of poetry, they will create a Poetry Portfolio to include works of the masters and 15 of their own original poems. Sherry helps students select one poem to submit for possible publication.
Suggested Time: 1 hour introductory workshop for students, and 1 hour “Teaching Poetry: Inspiration to Publication” workshop for teachers available; complete workshop takes 13 hours over the course of a weekend retreat or may be scheduled weekly throughout a semester
